The Viper remote start and security system comes in a 1 way platform or the 2 way platform. Many people ask what's the point in a 2 way remote system and what does it mean. A 2 way remote control talks to the car and the car can at any point send a signal back to the remote control which means it can tell you the alarm is sounding or you have selected a feature like remote start. A 1 way system is a normal car alarm where you press the remotes button and the car will wait for the command but it can't send any commands back to the remote control.
Do you need LCD remotes when using the Viper system? I would say you don't unless you want the added bling factor the LCD Viper controls are charged via USB they plug into your computer or laptop for simple charging but as you can guess due to the LCD display the batteries do run down more quickly and require quiet a bit of charging. The 1 way or the 2 way Ghost remotes have a normal CR battery inside and last a good while but these are not rechargeable.
